Sunshine Coast Back Country Reports is a free service provided by SuncoastCentral.com and Alpha Adventures for visitors to share current conditions and alerts about our fantastic outdoor areas.
Unsure how much snow is on the road but will try to go plow it on Friday after doing repairs. Please spread your tracks out do not drive in same ruts as last 50 cars. Use chains to make it safer for all ice and rubber do not mix well. Keep speeds down so you can safely stop as road is narrow. Use headlights on all back roads to be seen. Slow down when approaching oncoming vehicles stop and share info. Good habit to always park your vehicle facing out and slightly downhill. This makes it easier to get moving after your trip. Shovels and tow ropes can help you and others. Share info after your trips. Chaining up and spreading your tracks out can help keep the road driveable longer. And safer. Using chains breaks up ice and gives traction. Road is plowed when we can but not sanded. Expect heavy ice under snow. Be prepared be safe have fun.

Road to Dakota ridge very narrow and ice not plowed Alert / Warning Saturday, December 03, 2016
The road is very iced up and only 1 set of tire tracks to drive on. If you meet another car someone will have to back up which is high risk of getting stuck Past the bridge use chains and headlights if you have a shovel you might dig a safe spot to pull over. Rubber and ice don't mix well. If 1 vehicle gets stuck it can trap many above you.

Tet road plowed this morning Current Conditions Sunday, December 04, 2016
Please park well off the road and back up as far as you can some person parked in the middle of the parking lot. Made it hard to plow the lot Please spread your tracks out to pack the road down so we don't get 2 ruts. Using chains will help break up ice and give you better traction. Please slow down as sometimes road is narrow and some people walk the lower part of road. Drive safe play safe

Dakota road is blocked Current Conditions Sunday, December 04, 2016
Dakota access road is blocked about halfway from B lot up to the gate. Someone broke his (assuming it is a male here) truck and left it blocking the road.
he took his plates so I doubt he's in a hurry to go back. you can't get around it and you cant push it off the road - tried that.
its a large Ram 2500. very rusty. two tone blue. it may be there for a while.
but after you get up past him on your skins, you will find gorgeous backcountry conditions. it's worth the hike.

Dakota ridge. Broke down truck is gone Current Conditions Monday, December 05, 2016
Lots of snow gets pretty deep above lot B the Bridge area. You are driving on compressed snow that. An break through pretty tricky going even with chains. Tried to make some wide spots to pull over and cleared area to park at gate area. Traction was poor on any place snow driven on. Be careful.
