Bush still dry Alert / Warning Monday, August 10, 2015
Even with cooler conditions and small amount of rain Fire Hazard is still there. Campfire ban still on. If you smoke watch where you do it and be carefull where you park for your hike. Dry grass in parking areas could ignite from your Exhaust system being hot. Have fun stay safe

Water on Mt. Steele Current Conditions Friday, August 21, 2015
Hiked to Mt. Steele a week ago. Very dry beyond Edwards Cabin with no running water in any of the creeks. Luckily the pools and ground water at the Steele cabin still provided a very small trickle of running water after searching the creek beds. Some kind soul had left a plastic jug of fresh water in the cabin...we didn't use it.
Make sure you have water treatment gear with you and carry what you can.....

Rainy Peak trail Current Conditions Saturday, August 29, 2015
Ran into a group of unfriendly wasps on Rainy Peak trail last week. The nest is about 15-20 minutes up the switchbacks on the right (just before the waterfall). We would have flagged it, but were too busy running and screaming. Otherwise, the trail is looking great...the new diversion at the top right before the slabs is beautiful!
