snow in the Tetsnow in the Tet
Current Conditions Thursday, July 08, 2010

The Tet park is absolutely beautiful, moist, and coolish right now. Snow starts at around 1200m (15mins above Edwards cabin) and is probably unbroken through the trees and meadow and right up to Steele Peak, as you can see from the photo. The bugs are out but not so much in the cool, snow-covered areas.

The signage is getting quite cryptic. Some of you will know where the 2nd photo was taken.

RA EDRO!!

Rock ClimbingRock Climbing
Current Conditions Friday, July 09, 2010

Anyone who climbs or wants to learn to climb can come out every thursday evening this summer. We will be climbing at various spots on the coast. We plan on hopefully meeting up around 5 or 6 and finishing around 8ish. Next week we'll be meeting at Desoto Rock in Halfmoon Bay/West Sechelt. We have extra gear so if you don't have any you can still come. All we ask is for maybe a couple bucks to pay for wear on our expensive ropes.

See you out there!

Jelly Fish StingsJelly Fish Stings
Alert / Warning Saturday, July 31, 2010

Just had a small child sit on a Red Jelly fish. Here is info from poison control center. DO NOT PEE ON IT OR USE VINEGAR AND FRESH WATER. The treatment for BC Coastal Red Jelly Fish is totaly different then Tropics. We called Nurses hotline and they do not have the current info. Hope no one needs this info but here if you need it.

FLUSH AREA WITH SEA WATER!!

Skin:
Flush area with a gentle stream of seawater.
Do not use vinegar for stings from jellyfish in Canadian coastal waters. It may worsen the sting.
Do not urinate on the sting area or flush with fresh water or alcohol, as this may cause firing of stingers.
After flushing area, remove any remaining tentacles by scraping with a plastic card or dull edge of a knife.
For jellyfish stings from outside of Canadian coastal waters, contact the Poison Control Centre.
