Tet Road work looks DoneTet Road work looks Done
Current Conditions Sunday, September 06, 2009

It looks as if all road work is done. Road has been Gravelled from 2km to the Gray creek bridge. They did a great job and gravel has corse and fines so road surface is packed well.
Some idiots have pulled down the Parks sign at winter lot. Guess they can not find anything better to do.

Winter snows are only 60 days or so away

We sure did not see these amounts of snow last season

Going through the archived reports looks like Snows should start around Nov 1st or so That is just 45 days away. If you need snow tires or chains order them soon. Snow tires were hard to get last winter.

Take Care have fun

IT'S SNOWING!!!

Here in Falcon, CO at 6,831 ft above sea level, I woke up to see it snowing!

It started at a rain/sleet mix but slowly moved over to snowflakes.

We are 3 weeks to a month early for this. I hope it's a sign of things to come.

Can you believe it

This was posted on clubtread by Trailrunner

Actually I had to park in beyond the mini bridge at the bottom parking as guys were lifting up the firewood with the chopper. One guy proudly said the Tet club does all the maintenance of cabin and trail. On my way back walking to the bottom parking from top parking one guy was weeding the alder shoots off the entire stretch of two parking connector road! I didnt look in the cabin but the nice trail shows it: ALL windfalls seem to have been cleared up that is very rare in mtn trails. Thank you for the all the great work! Yesterday there were lots of people: school kids, families etc but they seemed to be fully enjoying it. I was quite excited about the dramatic opening of scenery and the pleasant course I talked about it at the people in Sechelt but none of them said they have been there- bummer.

That route could make a nice trail running race. Is there any plan to expand the trail system to nearby peaks like Tetrahedron peak or Panther peak? Tet peak looked quite scary like Lions West peak though.

I race competitively in mid-distance running & triathlon and I do trail running as a part of training- more fun this way than road or treadmill running. Snow shoe and xc-ski I havent done yet, but will bring it in as a part of regiment in couple of yrs. I recommend trail running to people as you will be surprised how fast you can go if you run, and also how less tired if you run instead of walking and taking much longer time to do the same course.

Port Mellon to McNair Cabin eh? Taking that route to Mt Steel would be a good workout. I saw the report in here but wonder if the trail is clear.
