Tet road. Deep water bars punctured oil panTet road. Deep water bars punctured oil pan
Alert / Warning Saturday, January 04, 2020

To young ladies in a CRV with good clearance punctured there oil pan because of stupid water bars. I gave them a ride out to get a tow truck.
They were not going fast they were going very slow through the water bars. Great way to wreck a trip on New Year’s Eve.
The SCRD and Tet outdoor club need to deal with road issue. Also Dakota Ridge has water bars my car bottomed out in them. Why now never had water bars for 28 years.

Tet road Dangerous water barsTet road Dangerous water bars
Alert / Warning Thursday, January 02, 2020

Went up Dec 31st to check road with heavy rain no water in all the water bars but some engine oil in 1. A Honda CRV with fairly good clearance tore its oil pan. The driver was going very slow and still did damage.
I gave them a ride out to cell phone range sweet talked a tow truck to tow them out. That road is to dangerous now I have cancelled all the school groups that I was to haul up there. There has not been a water problem on that road. I was raising funds to start plowing that road again but now can’t get plow truck through the water bars. Access has been screwed up Tourism will be affected. Snow and water bars don’t work well together.
To bad use to be good access.

Tet road. RoughTet road. Rough
Current Conditions Sunday, December 29, 2019

Took 4 people up yesterday ended up breaking tire chains and tearing flairs off my van. When you have tire chains on and go through those stupid water bars my chain hit the fender and broke.
People need to spread there tire tracks out. 1 ft of snow and just 2 frozen ruts yesterday. Today at 2pm it was water running down the ruts.
MOF needs to rethink there road management. Water bars don’t work well on winter roads.
I have now stopped going up there. Will not be taking anymore groups etc. Road is to rough for a Astro Van.
Sorry to all the school groups that I normally take. But the road is unsafe

Tet road. I was going to start plowing road againTet road. I was going to start plowing road again
Current Conditions Friday, December 20, 2019

But due to some problems with funding and MOF put 40 water bars in the road I can’t get the snow plow through them. MOF won’t allow them to be filled in. I plowed that road for 25 years and kept it in great shape. I even graded it with my snowplow. And if I saw a water problem I fixed it. Wether a large rock feel down into ditch or culvert plugged trees on road etc. If I saw a water problem I dug a small water bar to divert water off the road.
Please spread your tracks out. I will not be driving that road in winter snow conditions. I feel it is to dangerous with the deep water bars. I Tow trucks will go up there BCAA won’t help. Winter tires chains tow straps shovels Be prepared. Plowguy is out of it

Yet road rough lots pots holes many still frozen I iYet road rough lots pots holes many still frozen I i
Current Conditions Saturday, December 07, 2019

Still some patches of ice and snow much cooler up there. I only made $1.20 from empty beer cans. Normally in the summer I make $20. Road is getting soft so please spread your tracks out.
Hoping to get some funding to plow the road and grade it. The GOFUNDME page did get much.
Let’s hope things come through. But at best spread your tire tracks out wether gravel or snow. If everyone spread out there tracks in the snow it would be a great compact snow ice road would need to plow it. Carry chains be prepared to use them. And please always park you car facing out and down makes it easier to get going if snows over your trip. Easier to get traction on a little down hill.
Please remember CELL PHONES DONT WORK IN THE PARK. Have a trip plan stick to it. Don’t leave wallets or valuables in car. Many cars have been broken in to and cards used while people at cabins. Stay safe. Pack out what you take in. Wives take your husbands out too.
